Les Wallace

Minister

Les Wallace, our minister, entered the Methodist ministry in 1994 as a deacon in the Peterborough circuit after in-service training in south Norfolk and at Wesley House, Cambridge. He was ordained in 1996.

He felt called to transfer to the presbyteral ministry and was ordained into that order in 2003, after his move to Billericay.

Les is married to Di (who is a local preacher and psycho- therapist) and they have two married grown-up children and two grandchildren.

He enjoys playing and listening to music, watching wildlife, walking and car maintenance.

Mark Conlon

Lay worker

Mark Conlon is pastor for our Queens Park community and congregation.

He was brought up in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and entered full time ministry in 1988.

Before coming to Billericay in 2003, he served as a church pastor in Somerset and then as a university chaplain at Ruislip and then at Croydon.

Mark's leadership abilities are well used at the Share Jesus mission.

He is a skilled and enthusiastic chef, and on occasion will cook lunch or dinner for his whole congregation!

For relaxation, Mark also enjoys cinema and visiting ancient castles.

Dave Chuck

Youth worker

Dave Chuck was appointed our youth worker in September 2007.

Previously he had served as youth pastor at the nearby Danbury Mission, at the Central Baptist Church in Chelmsford and as a chaplain to The Boys' Brigade in East Anglia.

Dave's theological training has been at St John's Theological College in Nottingham and at Oak Hill College in London.

For relaxation he loves music, and he keeps up with the latest releases. In the past he has been a DJ, both on local radio and on road shows.

Heather Ashworth

Philip Gibson

Elizabeth Hardy

Lay assistants

Lay assistants provide pastoral care in the church that complements the minister's work.

Heather Ashworth is a life-long Methodist and member of this church for over 25 years; she has been a junior church teacher and steward. Heather visits people at home and supports church groups, such as our weekly luncheon club.

Philip Gibson is also secretary of our pastoral committee and a local (lay) preacher. Philip works part time at a local magistrates court. For relaxation he enjoys music, theatre, gardening and sport. He supports Bradford City Football Club.

Elizabeth Hardy visits and cares for the people of Queens Park in the church and the wider community. She supports our family 'drop-in' and Coffee Pot groups and is part of the local hospital chaplaincy team. Elizabeth enjoys reading, crosswords and music.
