John Wesley said:
Do all the
good
you can, by all the means you can, in
all the ways you can, in all the places
you can, at all the times you can, to
all the people you can, as long as ever you can

This helps to explain why action for justice for the most
deprived and poorest— in Britain and throughout the world—has high
priority for the Methodist Church, and at its church in Billericay in particular.
Christians are ideally placed to influence local and national public
opinion in their campaigns for social justice. But we recognise that social justice for others can best be
advanced by millions of people in their roles as voters and consumers.

Fair trade for producers
Fairtrade is about sustainable prices,
working conditions and trade for farmers and other workers in
developing countries.
And Make Poverty History (launched in 2005)
aims to eliminate extreme
poverty in developing countries by promoting fair trade and
cancelling some of the poorer countries' debts.
This church strongly supports the objectives of Make Poverty History
and Fairtrade
and it has achieved Fairtrade church status. We commend
its ideals to our people.
