Our community—churches in Billericay

Billericay is well served with churches, and unity among Christians and churches here is strong. We believe that what we have in common greatly exceeds our differences.

We work together through Churches Together in Billericay (CTB), which seeks to support and advance Christian witness throughout the town by bringing together the churches in Billericay.

A walk of witness and other acts of unity

Perhaps the highlight of the year for CTB is the Walk of Witness on Good Friday. About 400 members of local churches walk silently along the town's High Street, and conclude with a short service of worship and prayer.

CTB also arranges a joint service in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in January, occasional weekends of 24 hour prayer and Praise in the Park (in the style of Songs of Praise) at the local Lake Meadows park in June.

CTB is present at the local Barleylands steam fair and at the Rotary Club fun day in July. At these events we demonstrate that the church in Billericay is alive and well!
